Water is an important asset. It is an essential element of human environment. Its main source is the rain that builds streams, lakes and rivers. We have rain during the monsoon. The monsoon is a seasonal wind that blows in from the Bay of Bengal. But rain is full of whims that often us adversely. Heavy rainfall often causes floods. And we know what floods often do to us. The effects of floods are horrible. Crops are damaged. Houses and trees are wiped out. On the other hand, our winter is often rain-less and very dry which brings a bad harvest. We do not get water for our cultivation. Water is life. No life can be possible without water. But we are left to the mercy of Nature for water.
