A Journey By Boat - Composition

 Bangladesh is a land of rivers. Here, the rivers remain filled to the brim for several months. Thus, the people living by the sides of these rivers usually move from one place to another by boat. A journey by boat is an exceptional one in my life, as I live in town.

Last year I had an opportunity to make a journey by boat. It was the month of 'Ashar'. Our school was closed for the rainy season. I made a journey to the village of a friend. I along with four other friends planned to go to that village. We made preparations for the journey and took some necessary things. We fixed a date.

On that day, we started early in the morning. We got on a rickshaw and went to a river port. There we hired a small boat. Our boat journey started soon. We were passing through a vast cornfield. The scenery on both sides of the river attracted us very much. Our boat was gliding gently along the river. The boatman hoisted a colorful sail. The village women washing and bathing in the river and farmers working in the fields on the river banks presented a wonderful sight.

After an hour we found a bazar beside the river. There we bought some bananas and a couple of hilsha fish. We cooked our lunch on the boat and ate it with great relish. At last we reached our destination in the afternoon.
